In Fast Poker (like Terminal Poker) you are never in a hurry. You need to stay patient and pick your spots and hands to play. If there are enough players at the pool the action is going to be fast and you will usually get a new hand right away. This combined with the fact that you are constantly changing tables should affect your strategies. At the normal poker tables you can have histories of your opponents and tend to know their playing styles. That’s not the case at fast poker if there are enough players at the pool you’re getting many different situations against many different opponents.

Here is a good starting strategy for fast poker:

  • Start by playing TAG poker. Tight-Agressive poker means you wait for good starting hands and play them agressively
  • Bluffing in fast poker is not as profitable as in normal tables. That is if the pool is big enough that you don’t get to make notes that much of your opponents playing styles.
  • Stick to lowball poker. You can try to raise and steal from position or float but you should be ready to let go of the pot post-flop if the opponent seems too interested and you don’t hit anything. Don’t get caught in a big bluff pots against unfamiliar opponents. That’s the fastest way to loose your bankroll in fast poker.

After a while when you have got some information about your opponents (if the pool is small enough for that) you can loose it up. This strategy should be profitable and if you stick to playing your good starting hands agressive you should see some profit in the long run.
