We have all come to know PKR as the most innovative and technologically advanced poker company and the first one to provide real-time 3D graphics in a poker platform! Well PKR has some good news for all you iPhone and iPad (Supports iPad 2 and above/iPhone 4 and above) users in the UK who fancy a quick game of poker on the road, because the PKR 3D Poker for iPad is free to use and readily available in the Apple App Store. Unfortunately in this first launch phase the app can only be played in the UK but most likely PKR will expands its availability to other countries in the future.
I know there are a lot of skeptics out there about whether your portable device is a secure device to play your money away but real money poker on mobile devices are now an everyday sight. The one advantage PKR holds and prides itself the most against its major competitors is the graphics engine that supports its software, and yes; the mobile device app does not under-deliver.
If you have playing on the PKR platform before then you will already be familiar with its comical, self-consuming 3D experience it provides. Every player has an avatar allocated to themselves when sitting down on a table and it’s amazing to see them interact in a variety of humorous ways or even in a serious manner. The characters on the felt represent each players “poker alter-ego”, the 3D camera views, the dealers personality and non-stop animations make the game seem so realistic, I would dis-advice using your PKR app whilst traveling on foot, you might find yourself disoriented and/or in danger!
Software
Playing on the PKR software is not comparable to any other software available on mobile devices today, providing a completely unique 3D real-time interactive graphics. It provides the perfect balance between a serious poker game and any other fun-filled game to be found in the App Store.
Player’s avatars are fully customizable and PKR 3D Poker for iPad has this fun feature that will let your avatar learn new animations such as chip tricks and interacting with your opponents. The application uses a variety of cool 3d camera angles to engage you with the game giving you an overview of your hole cards whilst monitoring the actions of your players.
In the whole period of testing the application for this review we have found that the software seems to be perfectly stable with no noticeable bugs or crashes, always a plus when there’s money involved on the table. A disadvantage that we noticed is that unlike other apps, multi-tabling is not offered, due to of course the vast amount of graphics it takes just to run one table.

PKR offers an interesting promotional system where it chooses to provide players with 3 different promotional offers depending on your “level of play”, actually it all depends on how much money you are willing to commit in your first deposit.

It may happen that more than once you will find these players slowing down the action at the table when they are playing around with the latest chip trick or other character animations. But if you are looking to start grinding small stakes then PKR is definitely one of the more recommendable networks around because of the easier field of play!
Something negative we have to say about the mobile software which is a carryon from the computer version is that table numbers are limited and the servers do get overloaded with players at peak time so expect to be waiting around to be seated. No mixed games or your local niche poker game will be available this time around either with only Omaha and Texas Hold’em tables available.
But all in all playing with the PKR 3D Poker for iPad is a blast and it’s not one to miss if you happen to own a compatible iOS device!
