About PKR
PKR were one of the first online poker rooms offering 3D poker. In fact their founder and president Jez San was awarded an OBE for his contribution to games software development in the U.K (the first person ever to receive this prestigious title in the industry).
Players can be sat in a virtual poker room and able to participate in taunting, celebrating, performing chip tricks and dressing in some outlandish outfits. Other locations included in PKR are an outdoor Caribbean setting where poker players can enjoy cocktailswhilst basking in the sun. For the more conventional player you can opt for the more traditional 2D view of the poker table and for iPad users, a 3D mobile poker app.

One of the selling points of Pkr is that it is a standalone network, with no skins, all promotions are operated and controlled by Pkr and you will find that they are completely unique to themselves with the stunning graphics, ability to upgrade your poker avatar, choice of table designs just to name but a few of the options available to players. Pkr has also launched its very own mobile poker software so poker players can enjoy all the action using an Apple iPad. In the beginning the new PKR 3D Poker for iPad is only available for players in the UK, but it will launch in other countries in the future.

Activity
As an independent poker network, Pkr is not as popular as the more mainstream networks such as Ongame and Microgaming, however that being said they offer around 500 tables at any time for cash players as well as run a good range of tournaments including guaranteed prize-pools. As an independent poker network and despite losing 33% of their French players back in 2010 when the France Government ring-fenced their country from playing, Pkr has maintained a steady growth and continue to attract new poker players and continue going from strength to strength.
Competition
Due to the unique nature of Pkrs’ 3D table you will find more hobby poker players here than any other independent network. This reflects on how loose the cash games found at micro and low stakes poker, even at the higher stakes there seems to be a lot of action to be had on both the Texas and Omaha games. The only drawback is when playing on a 3D table is the speed at which you can play hands which tends to put off the more serious player, however solid poker players can find this an advantage and with good disciplined play, grinding money can be very profitable on the Pkr site.
Tournaments and Cash Games
Pkr offer a whole range of poker tournaments and cash games to choose from, a full schedule of their games can be found on the Pkr website. Cash games include the usual Texas Holdem and Omaha variations, whilst sit and go’s include heads up, six seat and ten seat single table tournament games. The tournament schedule is quite varied with a mix of both Texas and Omaha including satellites, guaranteed prize pools and qualifiers to live events such as the WSOP with deep and super deep stacks to suit your gameplay and style.
Support
As Pkr are their own independent network they are also responsible for their own support and in true Pkr form they provide a 3D virtual assistant that is able to answer most frequently asked questions. As well as their interactive FAQ system they also provide a quick turnaround email ticketing system should players not be able to find an answer to their initial query.
Banking
Players depositing and withdrawing at Pkr have multiple options, these include the usual credit / debit card choices, wire transfers, online processors such as Skrill, Neteller and Paypal as well as bank wires and a whole range of voucher top ups that include paysafecard, click and buy and Ukash.
