Bwin is a premium site for mobile poker. They have a customized poker software both for Android and iPhone. This review is about the Android Poker version.
The application is fast to download from Bwin as it’s only 2,28MB in size. It installs on your phone memory and after installation it takes 3.84MB of space.
Starting Menus
At the starting screen you have 3 options to choose from:
- Play for Real
- Play For Fun
- Preview
Preview is a tutorial that explains all the functions at the poker table. It is one example hand that is being played one action at a time and everything is explained from player timers to dealer button and different betting modes. Good addition for beginner players.
Game Selection
Game types that you can play with Bwin Android Poker are:
- Texas Hold ‘Em No Limit, Pot Limit and Fixed Limit.
You can choose if you want to play heads up, short table or full table (9 players).
Stakes you can choose from are:
- Texas No
limit: 0.05-0.1$ to 3-6$ - Texas Fixed
Limit: 0.05-0.1$ to 5-10$ - Texas Pot
Limit: 0.10-0.10$ to 5-5$
After you’ve done your selections for game type, table size and stakes the software will automatically search a table for you and you can start playing. The automatic server browser is fast and I’ve got to play everytime in a couple of seconds. Games with the mobile software are always played one table at the time.
Tables
Table graphics are well polished and stylish, so it’s visually very attractive. Action buttons at the table are big enough and there are the usual All-in, Pot and ½ pot betting buttons. There is also a slider for more exact betting and raising sums and you can activate it with “bet mode”. In bet mode you slide at the side of your screen up or down for bet size. The slider was too fast and inaccurate at first but after a while I got used to it.
Pressing Menu you have the options for:
- Table info, shows previous hands played, the winners and pot sizes.
- Cashier, gives you the option to bring more chips to the table.
- Settingsthat include:
- Auto post blind, Four-color deck, Sound and Vibrate when silent.
Conclusion
Bwin Android Poker was as good as I had expected. I’ve had no problems whatsoever and everything has been smooth from the installation to the games at the tables. You should definitely give it a try if you got Android mobile phone, 3G or WiFi connection and want some fast and fun poker gaming. It does the job and gives you an instant and mobile way of playing poker when you are on the move. But for more serious multi-tablers, tournament players or players of others poker variations it doesn’t offer much.
